Yes very beautiful, I can see a few in there I've loved and one that I would so love someone to make me read one day. Perhaps you could issue The Vikram Seth The Suitable Boy challenge and I might just manage it.
Happy New Year, thanks for a great blog this is where I come when I really want to know what a book's about and to think intelligently about what is being read.

Happy New Year to all at Eve's Alexandria! I don't think anyone can beat you people for beautifully written and brilliantly perceptive book reviews. Here's to another great year of them!

Wow! Happy New Year!

That's quite a pile! Wishing you all much happiness - and great books - in 2007!

Beautiful pile! Happy New Year!

Very cool new books! I hope you all have a wonderful, happy New Year and want to once again thank you, Nic, for the review of John Scalzi's Old Man's War. Scalzi is quickly becoming a favorite author. I had seen the book previously but would probably not have picked it up if it weren't for your review. Yay!

There is a book on the first pile called 'Cunt'

That made me laugh out loud. Please get to reviewing it for us.

What a haul!! I so do not feel bad anymore (granted you said collective haul, but still...). Happy New Year--have fun reading all those!! And whoever bought War and Peace...I bet you will finish before me (and I started last July....hanging head in shame).
