In lieu of an actual post, a book pile:
The Book People, damn them, have an irresistable offer on last year's Booker shortlist - all six books, including four in hardback for £12.50. When I read the novels last year I borrowed them all from the library (being thoroughly impoverished at the time), and have been yearning for copies ever since, particularly of Kiran Desai's winner and the Edward St Aubyn. And who could resist such a price? Resistance would be criminal.
(Unfortunately, my busyness has given way to a lowgrade flu-type bug that is mushing my brain - a post on The Victorans by A.N. Wilson to follow tomorrow.)
