By the time you read this I will be well on my way to an Easter walking break in the Welsh mountains, where I'm expecting to fit in lots of weatherbound reading during rain storms and the occasional snow flurry. Barbara Kingsolver's The Lacuna will be in my suitcase, as will Rebecca Gowers' The Twisted Heart and I'm really looking forward to both. You might remember that I said I wouldn't read the latter until the end of the Orange Challenge, because it sounded like something to look forward to at the end of a long literary haul... But I couldn't resist it once it dropped through the door, and I noticed that Kirsty from Other Stories had picked it up and read it at full speed. I see that she has posted a not-so-positive review of it today (which I haven't read properly for fear of spoilers), so I hope it doesn't frustrate me when I'm stuck with it in the middle of nowhere! Not to fear though, we're going to be visiting the famous Hay-on-Wye and I'm sure that I will come back with a stash of books (that or a car-boot full) to keep me busy.
So, I bid you adieu until next week, when I will be bringing you reviews of The Very Thought of You (about which I have enormously mixed feelings) and This is How (which is incredibly assured, and thoroughly disquieting), as well as my thoughts on The Lacuna and The Twisted Heart.
